Baby Boomer Women Bloggers to Watch in 2008

Blogging isn't just for the younger generation.

So says an article written by Anick Jesdanun, Baby Boomers Take to the Net "boomers are actually more enthusiastic than younger Americans when it comes to using the Internet for health care and finances, as well as government and religious information."

And according to an article on MSNBC "The boomers themselves can take credit for shaping the course of this technology if not the entire direction of the digital revolution. Gates is among a cadre of industry pioneers now in their 50s. But several decades ago they were tech-savvy kids who seized the moment when their elders had no clue...In the 1960s and early 1970s, many in the counterculture absolutely loathed computers and everything about them. They were seen as part of the Defense Department's War Machine, and also associated with depersonalization of a mass society."

So I started looking online and keeping track of Baby Boomer Bloggers (Women that is) to watch and what follows is my list of 87 Baby Boomer Women Bloggers to Watch in 2008. Some of these women are brand new to blogging and others are seasoned experts. They represent a wide range of topics and interests from many corners of the world.

Each one of them have at least two things in common. They were born between 1946 and 1964 and they have a passion for sharing their thoughts, expertise and wisdom with the world.

I have had the privilege of meeting, interviewing, photographing and writing the biographies of some amazing baby boomers for The Beautiful Women Project. These women are active in their careers, families and communities. I bet some are much better bloggers than I am at thirty seven! With a shared interest in women as strong, active and beautiful at any stage or age, please check out the Beautiful Women Project where we believe that it is the sum of a woman's life experiences that make her beautiful.

This is an incredible list. I've visited quite a few blogs you have mentioned. But you even have some I didn't know about.

I have to say my www.talk2bev.blogspot.com isn't my most popular but I do appreciate you listing it.

I am honored and grateful to be among your list of talented boomer bloggers.
Ours is a generation that has been blessed in many ways. One of our most outstanding characteristics is that we are always up for something new. Boomer women, especially, have broken through some pretty amazing barriers and we continue to take on challenges. Now, blogging is our latest way of reaching out and connecting with our fellow sisters.
So, Heidi, thank you so much for helping us do exactly that!

Seems like we have a couple of women who don't quite fit the Baby Boomer Category ... So much for research and referrals!

It just gave me the push I need to create a post called "The Unsung Heroines - Gen X Women Bloggers to Watch in 2008" - Look out Baby Boomers!

Anywone who is born between 1964 and 1975, and has had a blog for at least a year, send me your info (heidi (at) wecai.org) and I will review your blog for possible inclusion!

Thanks,

Heidi
